<1933 The birth of a legend: Loris Azzaro was born in Tunis to Italian parents. He spent his childhood and adolescence there, surrounded by sun, sea, bright colours and evocative scents... A Mediterranean life. <1957 A key encounter: Loris Azzaro meets Michelle Carsy, his future wife and muse. He designs a necklace for her. Jewellery, beaded bags and other personalised objects followed and his creations became sought after by refined, elegant women. The story begins... <1962 Arrival in Paris: While teaching Italian and French in Tunisia, Loris Azzaro decided to leave his homeland to fulfil his dream of moving to Paris. His costume jewellery began to work its magic in the fashion capital of the world... Loris Azzaro founded the Azzaro brand in 1967 with a collection of luminous, spectacular, flowing, shimmering dresses... It was something completely new, and the antithesis of the little black dress that was fashionable at the time. It won immediate recognition. In 1968, Loris Azzaro opened his own fashion house at 65 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The address is still the crossroads of Azzaro fashion today.
