The Grès brand embodies elegance, femininity and timelessness. Its illustrious fashion creations have become a benchmark of haute couture and have been worn by many stars, including Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo and Jacqueline Kennedy.
The brand was founded by the great couturier Germaine Émilie Krebs. Known as Madame Grès, she began working in fashion in the 1930s. In 1942, she founded the Grès fashion house, the name of which is an anagram of the first name of her husband, the Russian painter Serge Czerefkov.
The first Grès fragrance was created in 1958. It was the leather fragrance Grès Cabochard, inspired by Madame Grès's recent trip to India. Even today, this iconic fragrance enjoys great popularity on the market. With its notes of pineapple, sandalwood and patchouli, Grès Madame Grès eau de parfum is also a firm favourite, as is Grès Cabotine de Grès eau de parfum and its floral scent of tuberose, hyacinth and carnation.
