Josiane Maryse Pividal has chosen the pseudonym Lolita Lempicka to name her fashion brand. The name is a combination of Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita and the name of the Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka. The brand's first boutique opened in 1984, and was followed by other shops abroad.
